dearest someday » for the dreamers, the free spirited and the adventurous

Well folks, I just finally wrapped up all of the finishing details on this amazing couple’s wedding.. and I realized I hadn’t yet blogged their engagement session.  Must do that before I blog their wedding photos now, don’t I? ..because anything else would just be backwards and wrong. ha ha!

I met these guys at this fabulous location back in July, on the most incredible evening.  The sky was just beautiful, there was a storm moving in.. just as the sun was setting, and it made for a most fabulous backdrop.  We really could not have asked for a better evening.

The soft colours in these photos will always be a favourite.. I have strived to reproduce it, but you just can’t compete with Mother Nature!  These two were so great.. and were up for anything.  They sure did make my job easy!

This is where I would normally say congrats on your engagement.. and that I am looking forward to your wedding! ha ha! ..but yes, that would be wrong and backwards as well.  So, we will just sign off with CONGRATS ON EVERYTHING! ..and sorry I am a bad blogger. hee!

It is no secret that fall is my absolute favourite season.  I wish we could live somewhere where fall lasted all year long.  There perfect temperatures, my favourite clothes, cuddling up in blankets and sipping chai tea lattes all day.  Oh yes, I could handle that.

Here are some images from my recent pins on pinterest.. I thought they would look lovely all together as a group. Loving the pops of teal and peachy tones.. so pretty!

Jenny Morgan - These are always so inspiring!! Thanks so much for this wonderful little corner of the web!!ReplyCancel

Every now and then it is important to step outside of your comfort zone, and do something a little bit different. Don’t you think?  One evening, I had the urge to do just that.

In a whirlwind of inspiration, Laine and I were out the door and headed out to find the perfect location.

I wanted to experiment with light.  I had this vision of glitter on her face, catching bits of light.  Light from my distant headlights.  We waited and waited and waited until the sun met the horizon.. and it was magical.  It took a little bit of experimenting.. but that is part of the fun right?

I absolutely love how this little mini shoot turned out!

Hello all!  Took a bit of a break there, didn’t I? ..again.  SO excited to share this fun summer session.. it is a favourite for sure!  This is actually my second time photographing this family.  I had the pleasure of spending some time with them last fall as well.. I know, I still need to share those.  Crazy how time flies!  Those will make an appearance on here soon, promise!  Those and a lot more!

Anyhoo.. back to this adorable family!  I was so excited when they contacted me to do this summer session.. and maternity photos as well! happy for them!  Such a fun evening!

The evening was so great.. the sunlight, the glow, and of course the family!  The way she dressed them all for the session was so perfect.. those boys and those jeans!  Goodness, cute!! Then when she pulled out her dress and floral crown for her maternity shots, I think I might have jumped up and down a wee little bit. ha ha!  It was all so perfect.

If I had to sum up this evening in one word, it would be.. magical.

My muse..  love our creative fun mommy daughter dates.  Add a camera or two (now that she has her own) into the mix and a good time is guaranteed.  Love her.

I feel like I am continually apologizing for my absence here.  I honestly have no idea why my posts are getting to be fewer and fewer.  Maybe because I am always thinking I need to play catch up?  I have been updating the facebook page and instagram of course.. but the old blog seems to be getting neglected.  I will fix this my friends!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!  Big news to share soon!
