dearest someday » for the dreamers, the free spirited and the adventurous

Have you ever read the children’s book This Moose Belongs to Me by Oliver Jeffers?

It is simply awesome.  We are so in love with it.  One evening, not long after the teepee came in the mail.. I had a whirlwind moment of inspiration, and this was the result.  A creative photo session based on one of our most favourite books ever!

It all came together rather quickly.. we ran around gathering props and we were out the door thirty minutes later.  A quick stop at Starbucks and we were off location scouting.  It truly was an amazing night!  One of my favourite shoots of the entire summer!

Such great memories!

Kelly @ A Swell Place to Dwell - Your photos are simply amazing! Lovely…and what a fun idea to recreate the book. I’ve look at that book in the store a few times, but maybe now I’ll have to buy it.ReplyCancel

Cherona - Beautiful pictures as always. I love how you involve your family in impromptu photo sessions. Are they always willing and eager to play along? I want to try that sometime with my children but I’m not sure they’d be as excited about it as I would. :)ReplyCancel

Kellie - I love you were able to turn a shot of well-loved shoes into a beautiful glimpse of summer.

Where did you find the teepee? This might be on our Christmas list.ReplyCancel

I have been having a bit of fun experimenting with throwback thursday on my dearest someday facebook page over the past few weeks.  I thought it might be fun to bring it over here too!

..and all at once, summer collapsed into fall.

Love that.  So true.. that is how it was here, all at once.. hello fall.  You are my favourite.

Oh gosh.. not many words are needed for this post!  xo

This is how I will always remember our visit to San Diego.  Seeing the kids as they experience the vastness of the ocean.  Watching Laine in the waves.. getting braver and going in further and further, falling in love.  Then seeing Harley chase the seagulls.. over and over and over again.

Yes.. this is how our trip will forever be in my memories. xoxo

How about a little country sweetness today?

This shoot seriously made me giddy.  Several times I had to stop myself from completely making a fool of myself while jumping up and down.. I was just so excited! hee!  The setting was so gorgeous, and the weather.. even though it chilled to the bone… the hazy mist and overcast skies gave us the most excellent lighting!  Ohhh.. and don’t even get me started on the stunning model and the glorious wardrobe and styling!  ..seriously, giddy!

Here are a few of my favourites..

Thank you so much Brittany for doing such an amazing job as model.. a natural for sure!  Also, I am so very grateful to be given the opportunity to photograph this styled shoot for the incredible Besotted Vintage.. Larissa did an amazing job with this incredible wardrobe and styling!  Always a treat to work together! ..it was such an amazing experience!

..hope everyone is having a great summer! xoxo
