dearest someday » for the dreamers, the free spirited and the adventurous

1. Last week I got the courage to finally rip my office apart.  I am converting it from a scrappy/crafty room to a photography studio for the occasional shoot.  Don’t worry, I somehow managed to keep most of my ‘go to’ scrappy and and crafting stuff in here, but did manage to loose a desk and a huge shelf!  Go me! ha ha!  If you follow me on instagram (dearestsomeday), you may have seen some sneaks already. I am so in love with this space so far!

2. We got some major snow dumped on us these past few days and are currently on snow day number two.  I am thinking the buses will be running tomorrow, but if not.. I am so grateful that the kids seem to be enjoying each others company, and are actually doing things together!

3. My new white wall studio space has me inspired to paint more things! ha!

4. Because every post needs a picture.. here is a favourite form this fall.  Fall clothes are definitely my favourite!

5. Shop update is in the works.. so excited!  Should be ready by next week.  Not ready to put a date out there yet, I want to make sure it is a good one!

6. I have slept in until 10am both today and yesterday.. more sleep than on the weekend!  It isn’t only the kids who love snow days. hee!

7. I am struggling with remaining focused these days.. I start each day with the best of intentions, but by noon my mind has gone in a zillion different directions.

8. I am soooooooo far behind on project life.  See random fact above.. this might be a contributing reason. ha ha!

9. Our dog Piper had surgery again last week.  More lumps removed, three in the past few months.  I hate it, I hate that she has to go through that.  But, we love her so incredibly much, and thankfully she seems to do ok with it.. and wears her cone like a champ.

10. I miss you all, I miss blogging.. and if it takes a few random posts to get back in the swing of things.. well, that is ok.. right?

Juan - See now I am so torn – I need some scrappage rtiecudon pretty sharpish, but now I can’t decide if I want to do this, or make a scrap vomit of my very own, or do Apple Cyder’s lovely All Around the world scrap quilt. Hmmm, very tricky! Can’t wait to see the top quilt finished – that looks lovely :-)ReplyCancel

Oh my goodness.

I was so lucky and happy that I had the chance to attend this Besotted Vintage workshop.  It was so great!  The workshop left me feeling so inspired.  Workshops are great for that, there to learn and have fun.. no pressure!

Could there possibly be any better way to spend the day?

Larissa’s eye for detail is incredible.  I really appreciate her ability to know when is enough.. she has this great less is more approach, but still in a wonderful amount of goodness kind of way!  Such a talent!

This day was so fabulous!  If you are in the Grande Prairie area.. I definitely recommend her workshops!

Hello blog.  I sure have missed you.

Oh my gosh, could somebody please tell me how time is passing so quickly?  How not only is it already October.. but that October is almost over?  How is this happening?  I keep telling myself, “oh, I’ll blog tomorrow.. I’ll update the shop tomorrow.. I’ll do this.. and that!”

The days are flying by.  I am not sure what I can do to slow it all down.  I do know, that today.. is one of those tomorrows.  Maybe my blog should be called dearest tomorrow? Oh no, wait.. someday pretty much sums it up.

Over the weekend, I promised myself Monday.  I would start the routine that I miss dearly on Monday.  It is Tuesday.. a day late, but here we are.  Gosh.  What a whirlwind life is.  Must make the effort to slow it down a bit, and enjoy the moments more.  I swear, it was just summer.. and now we have frost.

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

So true.  My favourite time of year, and it is already coming to an end.  I love fall.. the change of season, the promise of something new.  The weather is my favourite, I can wear my sweaters and cardigans.. and hello new favourite, plaid flannel shirts! hee!  Fall this year has left me feeling inspired! ..to take more photos of regular life again, to run home and grab my camera because it is foggy and beautiful and the frost is sparkling. Yes, I did that yesterday.  It felt good.  Inspired to do projects around the house again, to blog.. to create.

..loving fall.

Also.. shop update coming soon! ..watch on facebook or instagram for more frequent updates!

So happy to be back! xoxo

Pink Ronnie - I know, it’s ridiculous. I mean, Christmas is almost here – how is that even possible!?

Have you ever read the children’s book This Moose Belongs to Me by Oliver Jeffers?

It is simply awesome.  We are so in love with it.  One evening, not long after the teepee came in the mail.. I had a whirlwind moment of inspiration, and this was the result.  A creative photo session based on one of our most favourite books ever!

It all came together rather quickly.. we ran around gathering props and we were out the door thirty minutes later.  A quick stop at Starbucks and we were off location scouting.  It truly was an amazing night!  One of my favourite shoots of the entire summer!

Such great memories!

Kelly @ A Swell Place to Dwell - Your photos are simply amazing! Lovely…and what a fun idea to recreate the book. I’ve look at that book in the store a few times, but maybe now I’ll have to buy it.ReplyCancel

Cherona - Beautiful pictures as always. I love how you involve your family in impromptu photo sessions. Are they always willing and eager to play along? I want to try that sometime with my children but I’m not sure they’d be as excited about it as I would. :)ReplyCancel

I have been having a bit of fun experimenting with throwback thursday on my dearest someday facebook page over the past few weeks.  I thought it might be fun to bring it over here too!

..and all at once, summer collapsed into fall.

Love that.  So true.. that is how it was here, all at once.. hello fall.  You are my favourite.
