meet prim

Almost two weeks later.. and I am still not entirely sure how it happened.

It was a Saturday morning, and I was in the office working away (or reading blogs.. it is so easy to confuse the two lol).. and my sister in law texts me “want another boxer? ..six months old, free to good home.”  UM WHAT? lol  Then she texts a picture and I was instantly smitten.. she looked so much like our Piper!

So I text her back.. it goes back and forth for awhile, but the general opinion was “yes, I would love to… but hubby will likely say no.”  I mean, how could he not right?  I have been bugging him for another dog for months.. jokingly mostly, but part of me really really loved the idea.

Anyhoo.. he gets home, I show him the text (which he doesn’t even fully read).. hands the phone back and says “sure.”

UM WHAT?

The boxer pup was currently at a friend of a friend of my sister in law’s house.. so we passed on our info and hoped for the best.  Then, two hours later.. we had two.

We named her Prim.. or more accurately, Laine named her Prim.  Yes, from The Hunger Games.  I wouldn’t know.. I havent read them yet.. but I quickly learned that Prim is the little sister.  Quite fitting, don’t you think?

Look at those two.. trouble!  Worse than children, could not get them to both look at the camera… these were the best photos of the bunch.  Prim is on the left, and Piper is on the right.  Prim is 6 months old and Piper is almost 5 years old.

So far, we are down one large vase, she ran into it and sent it flying.. a paper weight/book end stuffed owl which she mistakingly thought it was a toy as she grabbed it off the TV cabinet and ate it… and a sheepskin fur rug, which she somehow pulled through her dog kennel while we were out and proceeded to shred.

Yep.. she is a whirlwind.

But, we love her.  She has been pretty shy with us, but this past week she has really come around.  Yes, she is definitely making herself at home more and more every day.

Still not entirely sure how we ended up with a pup that one day.. how in a matter of hours a normal quiet Saturday turned into the day that it did.  I am so glad it all worked out though, she is home.. she is adorable, and we are crazy.

Prim and Piper… not to be confused with Prim and Proper, but that would be hilarious… and so ridiculously far from the truth. ha ha ha!
