dreaming of Christmas…

I am not sure how it got to be December 1st already.. but with it, the excitement of the holiday season is here! We usually set up our tree on this day every year.. but since we are soooo close to a weekend, we decided to hold off until tomorrow night.. let the kids stay up late, make some hot chocolate… and take our time instead of rushing to get the kids off to bed early enough.

I can hardly wait.  Dreaming of a white, calm.. rustic Christmas…

Think I can pull it off?  Could be interesting.. considering, our last 2 or 3 Christmases have been all about bright candy coloured fun! ha ha!  Switching gears a bit huh?  You have to keep life interesting.. right?  I don’t know what it is about this house… I just love love the subdued feel.. the light and airy, it inspires me to almost be minimalistic (in a cluttered sort of way ha ha!!).. you know what I mean, right?

Today’s agenda.. go dig out our Christmas decor from the large stack of moving boxes in the basement!  Sort out the special ornaments that we use know matter the decor theme.. separate the ornaments I bought to enhance the candy coloured… find the numerous bags of ‘nature’ inspired stuff I have collected for this new theme, and get it all organized for tomorrow!  Eeeeek, I can not wait!  Usually, once the tree is up… that is when it really begins to feel like the holiday season!

I am inspired!!

Rahel - i have full confidence that you will pull this off just the way you want it :D you have an amazing talent of decorating (and scrapbooking by the way ;) ) and i am sure, once i see your pictures i want to live in your house – as always ;) heeee

Lucy S - oooh!! super excited about what you’ll do with the house. You have such a great creative eye for things, wanna come over & decorate my house?! hehehe
i’m really excited that we finally have a nice space that can actually be decorated & designed and not be over powered by our furniture! Can’t wait for you to see it!

unfortunately for us this christmas we have no decorations or a tree. it was all in the basement during papa’s flood :(
we are probably going to go & pick .. or cut… lol… our own tree in the mountains this year. Go out & buy our annual christmas anniversary decoration & work with that!

but christmas is about a feeling not anything else… and i love the feeling i have :)

Kirsten J - I was all gung ho and set up my fake tree last Saturday…..and stopped. Haven’t quite felt it yet, but today we got the real tree for the family room, and the smell is getting me inspired. Tomorrow is the day. What helps me is the tunes. If I start playing the music, I think it will help :)December 4, 2011 – 12:51 am
